Racing Louisville FC and WAVE have renewed their local broadcast agreement for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League season, the club and station announced.
The partnership includes broadcasting seven Racing matches on WAVE’s The 365 channel as part of an upgraded collaboration between Louisville’s NBC affiliate and the only top-tier professional team in Kentucky. WAVE will also produce regular featured content on Racing Louisville players and coaches on its newly-created Racing Louisville vertical on WAVE3.com and host three WAVE Country interviews with longtime anchor Dawne Gee through the course of the year.
Meteorologist and diehard Racing supporter Tawana Andrew will again produce gameday weather reports and create fun content with the team.
Fans can watch games on The 365 over the air on WAVE 3.3, Spectrum cable channel 193 and Dish Network’s 370. Games will also be streamed on WAVE3.com and the WAVE News app.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Racing Louisville,” said John O’Brien, vice president and general manager of WAVE. “It is important that we support our hometown professional sports teams by broadcasting matches and telling the great stories of Racing Louisville on and off the field.”
“This is a really important strategic partnership for us as a club,” said Pat Denbow, vice president of partnerships. “It’ll help shine more light on our best product: the players. Through enhanced live broadcasts and more original content, our fans will have more opportunities than ever to follow along on what’s shaping up to be our best season yet.”
The seven matches selected for WAVE broadcast include Racing’s home opener on March 16 against the Orlando Pride, a 4 p.m. kickoff, as well as the first time Racing will play during Thunder Over Louisville, set for a 5 p.m. April 20 kickoff amid the day’s long list of activities at Lynn Family Stadium and downtown Louisville.
