Racing Louisville has signed rookie forward Riley Parker to a contract, the club announced Wednesday.
Parker and Louisville agreed to a one-year deal with an option for the 2024 season. The 22-year-old was Racing’s fourth-round pick in last month’s NWSL Draft.
“Riley is a talented young player who we were happy to draft,” Racing head coach Kim Björkegren said. “She has a great personality, and we have a great plan to continue her development.”
“I am so excited to officially be a part of the Racing Louisville family!” Parker said. “I’m really looking forward to developing as a player and person in this next stage of my career, and I am so grateful to Racing for this opportunity.”
An All-American and the SEC Forward of the Year as a senior at the University of Alabama, Parker set a program record with 17 goals this past fall. The Texas native helped the Crimson Tide reach the College Cup for the first time in school history a year after tearing her ACL and sitting out the 2021 season.
Parker finished her Alabama career with 25 goals and 13 assists in 74 matches.
Racing, which began preseason training on Jan. 25, will see its 22-game NWSL regular season this year play out over seven months, starting on March 25. A full schedule is pending, with season, group and premium tickets on sale now by visiting RacingLouFC.com/tickets.
