For the first time this season Racing Louisville FC’s USL W League team dropped points, when it drew Indy Eleven 1-1 Friday at Grand Park.
Racing’s record now stands at 3-0-1 on the nation’s premier pre-professional women’s soccer circuit.
Racing took the lead in the 38th minute when Jordyn Rhodes headed in a service from Brooke Dardano.
Indy, which also entered the match 3-0 without conceding a goal responded in the 60th minute, through Katie Soderstrom.
Racing goalkeeper Sam Castaneda made a pair of saves in the 71st and 78th minutes on Soderstrom to preserve the draw for the visiting side.
With this result, Racing (+14 goal differential) remains atop the Valley Division, with Indy (+12 goal differential) tied on points. The first-place finisher from each division will advance to the USL W League playoffs in June.
With a roster comprised of college standouts and Racing youth academy talents, the club is four games into a 10-match W League campaign. Next up, Louisville will face Indy again, but this time at home, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 6 in a match that could decide which team gets the lone playoff spot in the division.
Racing’s home W League games are open to the public and free to attend.
