Racing Louisville and goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer agreed to a new deal that will keep her in lavender through the 2024 campaign, the club announced Tuesday.
Bloomer’s new contract includes a team option for 2025.
“I am super grateful to be re-signed here at Racing,” Bloomer said. “I think everybody can see the potential that this team has, so I’m really excited to be back and do what I can to help the team be as successful as possible next season!”
“I am excited that Jordyn has re-signed with the club,” said Racing goalkeepers coach Sergio Gonzalez. “Her development during the 2022 season and successful time during her loan at Western Sydney showed that she has the ability to compete at this level. She has taken such a diligent approach to her rehab and recovery from her injury this season and is back out on the field preparing for 2024.”
“Jordyn’s progress since her injury has been inspired,” Racing general manager Ryan Dell said. “Her hard work and dedication match Racing Louisville’s values, and I cannot wait to see her back on the field in 2024.”
A 25-year-old from Wisconsin, Bloomer was placed on the season-ending injury list after back surgery kept her out most of the 2023 season. The reserve goalkeeper made one appearance in the 2023 preseason tournament in Portland and one start in the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup.
The former University of Wisconsin star was a second-round pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft after twice being named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year and earning All-American honors.
Last year, Racing loaned Bloomer for the winter to Australian club Western Sydney Wanderers, which plays in the A-League Women. She made 14 starts for Western Sydney, posting four clean sheets.
