Rookie defender Ella Hase is slated to make her professional debut for Racing Louisville FC in tonight’s 10 p.m. road game against Bay FC at PayPal Park in San Jose, California.
The former Duke University standout signed her first professional contract with Louisville in January after tallying 13 assists in 2024 — tied for second-most in NCAA Division I soccer. She’ll replace Ellie Jean, plugging in at left back as Courtney Petersen slides over to partner with captain Arin Wright in center defense.
Lauren Milliet, who is four appearances away from becoming the first Louisville player to 100, retains her place at right back.
For the 76th time, Katie Lund starts in net for Racing needing just five more saves to hit the 300 mark for her career.
Taylor Flint and Ary Borges once again make up the midfield grouping just ahead of the back line. Flint, a second-year Racing player, was the star of Louisville’s engine room in a season-opening draw with the North Carolina Courage, leading the team in passes into the final third (14) and successful duels (18).
Savannah DeMelo will stay in her familiar attacking midfield role after finishing tied for the team-high in chances created last week (2).
Following a productive outing up front, coach Bev Yanez’s attack selection mirrors the opening weekend. Emma Sears, who scored Racing’s opening goal of 2025, returns to the right flank. Janine Sonis is set to operate opposite Sears with Kayla Fischer taking up the responsibility of the number nine position.
On the bench, defender Elli Pikkujämsä makes a gameday squad for the first time since suffering a torn patellar tendon in her left knee last March. Pikkujämsä was activated from the season-ending injury list this week.
Defender Allie George and midfielder Avery Kalitta — signed as a short-term injury replacement player this week — would both make their professional debuts if they see the field off the bench. Forward Sarah Weber and midfielder Katie O’Kane are also available after impressing in substitute roles last week.
Fans can tune into the action live on ION, which is available on numerous streaming platforms, including Tubi and YouTube TV. Viewers can find their local channel number by searching for their zip code here. Fans can also listen to a broadcast of the game on Talk Radio 1080 AM.
