2021: Missing out on the start of the season with back injury, Merrick made her first Racing appearance on June 23 against her former club, the North Carolina Courage. She played in three straight games before suffering an ankle injury that ended her season.
Before Racing Louisville FC: Merrick logged a program-record 7,630 minutes at Kansas. As a senior she was named to the All-Big 12 First Team, earned Big 12 Defender of the Year honors and helped to lead the Jayhawks to a conference championship. Following a standout senior season, she went as the 28th overall pick in the 2020 NWSL Draft and made her professional debut with the North Carolina Courage in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. Merrick also attended Kansas with Katie McClure. Both were selected by Racing Louisville FC in the 2020 NWSL Expansion Draft.
